Caritas Malta Hosts the Caritas Communications Forum and Caritas Fundraising Forum, Bringing Members from different countries of Caritas Europa Together

Caritas Malta is thrilled to announce the successful hosting of the Caritas Communications Forum and Fundraising Forum, a week-long event that brought together approximately 50 participants from various European countries. The forum, which commenced on the 3rd of October 2023 was concluded on Friday, October 6th, 2023, delved into a range of crucial topics, including Artificial Intelligence, social media strategies, and the art of storytelling.

The event began with a warm welcome address by the Director of Caritas Malta, Mr.Anthony Gatt, who extended his gratitude to all the participants for their presence and commitment to furthering the cause of communication in all aspects of work of Caritas around Europe.

A highlight of the forum was the inspiring keynote address delivered by Dr Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament. Dr Metsola emphasized the paramount importance of effective communication in the realm of humanitarian and charitable endeavors. Her insights resonated with the audience and set the stage for meaningful discussions throughout the week. While mentioning the sterling work of affiliated members of Caritas Europa are doing around Europe she also stated that Cariats Malta has become a central pillar of many of our communities. She thanked all countries for the tireless endevours – together and stated : “We can continue to make Europe a little bit better, a little bit safer and a little more equal for us all.”

The forum featured distinguished Maltese speakers who shared their expertise on various topics. Among them were Fr. Joe Borg, known for his insightful perspectives on social issues, and also how one communicates best a message to the audience. Peppi Azzopardi, a well-known media personality, spoke about story telling as an expert in fundraising strategies and Dawson Camilleri spoke about artificial intelligence. Josef Pace, Caritas Malta Service coordinator spoke about the servives provided from The Caritas Community Centre, while Chief Financial Officer, Ritianne Fiteni Cassar spoke about budget making and strategies for financial sustainability. Marica Cassar PRO and Fundraiser explained the different methods used at Caritas Malta to communicate the message. Their contributions added a local touch to the international event, providing valuable insights and fresh perspectives.

Participants engaged in rigorous discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions that aimed to enhance their skills and knowledge in the fields of communication and fundraising. The diverse topics explored during the forum provided a comprehensive view of the contemporary challenges and opportunities faced by organizations in the charitable sector.

As the forum draws to a close on Friday, October 6th, 2023, Caritas Malta is proud to  have facilitated this exchange of ideas and experiences among professionals from across Europe. The event not only strengthened bonds among participants but also provided a platform to enrich their capabilities for the greater good.

Caritas Malta, b’sodisfazzjoni, ospitat b’suċċess il-Caritas Communications Forum u Fundraising Forum, attività ta’ ġimgħa li fiha laqgħet mal-50 parteċipant minn pajjiżi membri
minn madwar l-Ewropa. Il-forum li beda fit-3 ta’ Ottubru 2023, ġie fit-tmiemu lbieraħ ilĠimgħa 6 ta’ Ottubru 2023, fejn ġew diskussi diversi suġġetti varji u kruċjali, fosthom l-
Intelliġenza Artifiċjali, strateġiji dwar mod effettiv ta’ midja soċjali, u l-mod kif permezz talistejjer ta’ persuni li jieħdu servizzi jitwasslu l-ħtiġijiet għand is-soċjetà.

L-attività bdiet b’merħba sabiħa mid-Direttur ta’ Caritas Malta, is-Sur Anthony Gatt, li wassal il-gratitudni tiegħu lill-parteċipanti li attendew u tal-impenn biex jippromwovu lkawża li dan isir permezz tal-komunikazzjoni fl-aspetti kollha tax-xogħol ta’ Caritas madwar l-Ewropa.

Fil-forum spikka l-messaġġ indirizzat mill-President tal-Parlament Ewropew, Dr Roberta Metsola. Dr Metsola enfasizzat l-importanza ta’ komunikazzjoni effettiva fl-isfera umanitarja u f’attivitajiet ta’ karità. Il-fehmiet tagħha ntlaqgħu mill-udjenza preżenti u dan wassal diskussjonijiet sostanzjali matul il-ġimgħa. Filwaqt li tkellmet dwar ix-xogħol eċċezzjonali li qed isir madwar l-Ewropa mill-membri tal-Caritas Europa, stqarret li Caritas Malta saret pilastru ċentrali f’ħafna mill-komunitajiet Maltin. Irringrazzjat lill-pajjiżi kollha għall-ħidma kontinwa, u temmet il-messaġġ billi qalet: “Aħna nistgħu permezz ta’ ħidmietna nġibu l-Ewropa ftit iktar aħjar, ftit iktar sigura u ftit iktar ugwali għalina lkoll.”

Il-fora kellha wkoll kelliema Maltin, magħrufa, li qasmu l-għarfien tagħhom fuq suġġetti varji. Fost il-kelliema mistiedna kien hemm Fr Joe Borg, magħruf għall-perspettivi tiegħu fuq kwistjonijiet soċjali, kif ukoll fuq kif wieħed għandu jikkomunika l-aħjar mod il-messaġġ lilludjenza. Peppi Azzopardi, personalità magħrufa ħafna fuq il-midja, tkellem dwar ir-rakkont tal-istejjer bħala aspett essenzjali biex jinġabru l-flus f’maratoni ta’ karità. Dawnson Camilleri tkellem dwar l-intelliġenza artifiċjali. Minn Caritas Malta tkellmu Josef Pace, Kordinatur tas-Servizzi Psiko-soċjali fejn spjega l-importanza ta’ Caritas Community Centre u kif iservi lis-Soċjetà b’servizzi varji, filwaqt li ċ-Chief Financial Officer, Ritianne Fiteni Cassar tkellmet dwar l-importanza ta’ budgeting u metodi ta’ sostenn għall-sostenibbiltà finanzjarja. Marica Cassar il-PRO u Fundraiser spejgat dwar metodi differenti li Caritas Malta tuża biex twassal il-messsaġġ tagħha lill-awtoritajiet u lis-soċjetà. Is-sehem ta’ dawn il-kelliema żid element lokali, u provda għarfien essenzjali u perspettivi friski għall-membri minn pajjiżi differenti.

Il-parteċipanti pparteċipaw f’diskussjonijiet, f’workshops, u f’sessjonijiet interattivi li kellhom l-għan li jsaħħu l-abbiltajiet u l-għarfien f’dak li għandu x’jaqsam malkomunikazzjoni u mal-ġbir ta’ fondi. Is-suġġetti diversi li ġew esplorati matul il-forum ipprovdew viżjoni kompluta tal-isfidi preżenti u opportunitajiet li jiġu ffaċċjati bihom lorganizzazzjonijiet fis-settur soċjali u karitattiv.

Hekk kif il-forum ilbieraħ ġie fi tmiemu, Caritas Malta sodisfatta li offriet il-faċilitajiet tagħha f’Caritas Community Centre u ffaċilitat biex jinqasmu l-ideat u l-esperjenzi fost professjonisti minn madwar l-Ewropa. L-attività mhux biss ssaħħaħ ir-rabta fost ilparteċipanti imma pprovdiet spazju biex jitkabbru l-abbiltajiet għall-kawża ikbar.

Caritas Malta testendi l-apprezzament lill-kelliema, parteċipanti, u kollaboraturi li għamlu din l-attività possibbli u biex flimkien ikunu kommessi li dejjem jaħdmu għall-kawża biex il-komunikazzjoni u ġbir ta’ fondi ikunu dejjem iktar effettivi bħala servizz għal dawk fil bżonn.
