We are pleased to inform you that Dr Josanne Aquilina, Consultant Neurologist, MD FRCP FRCPE,  will be our guest speaker during our next virtual members meeting to be held on Friday 29th May 2020 at 6pm. The title is:

COVID-19 and Epilepsy

Dr. Josanne Aquilina is Consultant Neurologist in the Neuroscience Department of Mater Dei Hospital, Malta; Lead in Clinical Neurophysiology in the Neuroscience Department in Mater Dei Hospital, Malta.and Senior Lecturer Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Malta.

She graduated as Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malta in 1985 and followed further training in Internal Medicine and then in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology both in  Malta and overseas at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in London, UK. She has contributed to  the development of the Neuroscience Department in Mater Dei Hospital, with introduction of specialist services for Stroke, Epilepsy and Parkinson Disease amongst others. n particular Dr Aquilina led the introduction of Long Term Monitoring of Video EEG services for persons with Epilepsy as well as Deep Brain Stimulation surgery for patients with Movement Disorders in collaboration with the specialist visiting surgeon from the NHNN. She also hosts subspecialty clinics in Mater Dei Hospital dedicated to particular areas of interest including Epilepsy. She is the author of several publications and case reports in local and international journals, and participation in international conferences in Neurology and Epilepsy and collaborates in the development of Post Graduate Training for Higher Specialist Trainees in Neurology.

The meeting will be held by Zoom. This meeting will be only accessible through a link and a password. Only those persons who inform us that they wish to attend by sending an email on maltaepilepsy@gmail.com by Wednesday 27th May 2020, will be provided with this link and password.
