THERAPEUTIC FACILITATOR – part time

The Position

The Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers (Caritas Malta) invites applications for the role of Therapeutic Facilitator to work in one of its rehabilitation units on a part time basis.

The Role

The Therapeutic Facilitator is an essential resource for the rehabilitation program to fulfil its aims towards residents and clients, and s/he shall act as a role model at all times. The selected person shall be responsible to carry out the “tools” of the community and supervise accordingly. Responsibilities include amongst others duties related to each individual resident and client, such as carrying out assessments, formulate treatment plans, conducting individual sessions with residents, accompanying residents for appointments, and taking urine samples. It is also expected that the facilitator carries out duties involving groups of residents, such as facilitate meetings, organise outings, co-facilitate family groups, and liaise with family members of residents as necessary.

The Facilitator is directly accountable to the Head of Unit.

The Person

The individuals interested in this role shall meet the following requirements:

  • Have previous experience in a similar setting with a proven track record;

OR

Be in possession of a graduate qualification preferably in a social science subject;

  • Have good interpersonal skills, creativity, and an energetic personality;
  • Be mature with sound moral values;
  • Able to work in a team;
  • Possess good verbal and written communication in both Maltese and English;
  • Be IT literate;
  • Possess a clean driving licence;
  • Be prepared to work evenings at least two to three times a week;
