Overall the EAP saves resources, time , and money for the organisation Caritas
Use of EAP
An employee or employer’s immediate family members can contact the EAP for assistance at this or her own discretion. Any decision to accept assessment, counselling or treatment is the responsibility of the employee.
If an employee’s work performance becomes less than satisfactory, the supervisor may refer an employee to EAP. Under these circumstances, the employee will be required to meet with the EAP for an assessment, counselling or treatment is the responsibility of the employee.
Success of Employee Assistance Programme
The success of EAP is not easily measurable.
The number of employees who come forward to ask for help is very encouraging.
In Most Companies, the number of employees asking for help is not documented in the interest of discretion and confidentiality, especially since the problems that employees come up with are personal and not necessarily work-related.
However a functioning EAP facilitates a “healthy” working environment which, in the context of Human Resources Development Culture, makes employees more “at home” at the workplace. Employees feel that they are not treated like robots but as human beings who may at times – for known or unknown causes, delay their personal development and growth , and becomes less productive. However, they can eventually resolve their problems and change their negative attitudes if they are given the right support at the right time.
